Action for Brazil's Children Trust

London, Oct 31st 2008: acclaimed director Fernando Meirelles presented Blindness at an exclusive gala screening in aid of the Action for Brazil’s Children Trust. Following the film both Meirelles and screenwriter/actor Don McKellar took part in a Q&A session, chaired by film critic and broadcaster Nigel Floyd.

Meirelles became a Patron of ABC Trust after setting up Cinema Nosso, a social film project which emerged from City of God. Cinema Nosso trains disadvantaged young people from Rio in all aspects of film making, giving them a rare opportunity to learn new skills and tell their stories to the world.

ABC Trust is dedicated to helping street children and the most vulnerable young people of Brazil. Over the last few years the charity has instigated and supported dozens of projects across Brazil, many within the arts. Please visit the charity’s site for more information or contact Andrew Webb, CEO.
